《 Treat yo self 》 🎂🤭💗 Finding that balance - how to have treats in your life and not feel guilty... Looking to lose weight and get yourself healthier, but seeing all these social media posts of friends going out and enjoying their cake, but not gaining weight and you think 'HOW?! How do they do it?" Well the short answer is, its finding the balance that works for you. We are all different, so eating the same way your friend did to lose weight, or the same way your friend does now, may not work for you. Its the same with Keto, it may work for others, while for some people it may add stress on their body, with the resulting impact of weight gained. If it's not something that you can maintain for life, what's the point in starting? We need to create sustainable life habits 💕
Keeping a nutrition diary is a great way of keeping track of your treats. If you have a cheat meal once a week, which doesn't sound much, that's 52 times a year, lets say you have two cheat meals a week, that's then 104 times a year... that's quite a lot. However, the problem itself isn't often the cheat meals, its the number of treats you are having during the week, that you happen to not remember, or its a new day so the day before is forgotten about.... that cupcake from your son's birthday party, or that piece of cake from your workmates morning tea shout... We seem to treat ourselves a lot, and often, not even know we are doing it A LOT.
If you are someone that wants to treat themselves daily, then do, BUT make it a serving size, so it may only be four pieces of dark chocolate, or 2 sticks of a 5 stick kitkat. Counting calories is not a bad thing, if it helps to educate you on your treats - having that knowledge may be what is needed for you to live a healthier balanced lifestyle, that still sees you losing weight, or gaining muscles, or getting fitter - whatever your goals are.
If you are a dessert person, maybe eat less dinner, so your dessert can truly be enjoyed. Find what works for you, not your friends.
You don't have to be perfect.... you can eat that cake.
