Do you make yourself a priority in your life or do you fill everybody else’s needs before taking care of your own? I do not mean taking care of your wants and not being there for your family and others. I mean do you take care of you spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically, before being there for others?
I am so guilty of putting myself last and by the end of the day having zero energy to take care of myself. It kind of makes sense that this order is wrong. What I mean is, if you are drained and never looking out for your life needs, you can not adequately be there for those that need you. After a while we become so exhausted that we get sick or cranky, at least I sure do. When that happens we are no good to anybody, let alone ourself, and especially not Jesus. People do not want to listen to a hateful cranky woman (or man!)! Starting today I am changing my order of priorities. Starting today I will spend time with my Jesus, then take care of my other needs (Jesus is my spiritual need), then I will adequately take care of all the people in my life that I was given to take care of. So, if you call bright and early and I do not answer, I will call you back when I am fulfilled (by the way, anybody that knows me knows not to call bright and early unless they are truly sick or dying 🙄 true story!). Sorry, I digress. Put your NEEDS first so you can be the best you. *loving “Girl, Wash Your Face”!!! So thankful she is following her calling to help other women through her life lessons.
