This is the wallum sedge frog - Litoria olongburensis. They are a stunning sharp snouted reed frog found in acidic fresh water swamps with a ph <5.5 with emergent reeds, ferns and sedges. These beautiful frogs are listed as Vulnerable at both state and federal levels, with numbers of these delightful frogs decreasing due to numerous factors including habitat destruction, weed invasion and inappropriate fire regimes. With the onset of climate change and associated increase in fire, drought and decrease in rainfall, this species needs our help, as do all wildlife species on earth. Start fighting for our future, and the future of all life on earth - stand up, be counted - we have to address climate change, and we have to do it now !!!! I stand with the children and their strike for climate action, and stand with those who oppose coal mines such as those proposed by Adani.
Now is the time to find your voice - now is the time to stand up.
We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.
