🐼❤️🙌 #Repost @mattiasklumofficial (@get_repost) ・・・ I would like to celebrate the World Wildlife Coservation day by mentioning a piece of positive information about the world’s threatened wildlife, the giant panda has been downgraded from ‘Endangered’ to ‘Vulnerable’ on the global list of species at risk of extinction, demonstrating how an integrated approach can help save our planet’s vanishing biodiversity. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) announced the positive change to the giant panda’s official status in the Red List of Threatened Species, pointing to the 17% rise in the population in the decade up to 2014, when a nationwide census found 1,864 giant pandas in the wild in China. I photographed this charming female giant panda in Foping Nature Reserve, Shaanxi Province, China. Please help raise awareness and contribute to the conservation and protection of endangered species such as sharks, elephants, rhinos and tigers by supporting conservation oraganizations like WWF and IUCN. #mattiasklum #makeachange #nikonambassador #wildlifeconcervationday #livingthedream #protectbiodiversity #giantpanda #china #foping @irisalexandrov @natgeo @thephotosociety @alexandrovklumofficial @mattiasklumcollection

For World Wildlife Conservation Day an #endangered #polarbear at the #sandiegozoo This young lady doesn’t seem too concerned, I guess living in #socal can do that to a gal, but obviously she hasn’t been keeping up with the news these days.  There’s a bunch of “conservatives” in power who are vehemently anti-”conservation.” Go figure.   #wildlifeconcervationday #endangeredspecies #planetearth

Today is Wildlife Conservation Day! Although originally created to combat illegal poaching/trafficking of some of our international gems like rhinos, elephants, and tigers, a day like today is important to reflect on all wildlife that needs a voice. There are still areas where wolverine trapping is legal. Let’s commit to do all that we can to stand up for this incredible symbol of true wilderness! Photo Credit: @marq_k
