These new wines from Chile are really hitting it out of the park for me 🏆. Tried the Antuen Red Blend last night with a friend, and we both absolutely loved it (note the drained bottle)! 85% Syrah, 15% Cab Sauv; it’s fresh and juicy with blackberry and cherry, cocoa and some black pepper spice give it plenty of interest, perfectly balanced and structured tannins. Would be amazing with food, but we still loved it without! If you dig Italian reds, something about the hint of spice and the structure makes me think you would enjoy this. And at $22, why not?!

Fun fact about this wine: some of our inventory experienced bottle shock, which is more than just a charming 2008 Alan Rickman movie. Wine can sometimes temporarily become sort of sleepy 😴 , or disjointed, after the movement and temperature fluctuations of travel 🚢. Not unlike us, right? And because our clean-crafted wines don’t have the preservatives, chemicals, and additives that others use to mask this exact phenomenon, we treat our wine as a living thing. Scout & Cellar stopped all shipments of the Antuen for a couple days to let it rest, and did not resume shipping until over 40 bottles, each from a different lot, were tasted, to ensure quality before it goes out to you guys. I can tell you that mine was delicious, but say you had a bottle that didn’t smell right? Leave it uncorked or decant it for 30-45 minutes and it should wake right up! Bottle shock doesn’t ruin the wine, so no reason to fret. Plus, we guarantee the bottle for your enjoyment. Integrity is the name of the game, from the vine to the glass, and I just love that! 💛
