Are your habits really serving you?
My reflections from my biannual visit to the dentist today.
So, my dentist told me that all the lemon water and apple cider vinegar water that I’ve been drinking every morning for many years has been affecting me teeth. The acidity is wearing my enamel down and if I keep going like this, I’ll have to get 10 crowns! 😱
I even got a straw, but apparently it’s not really helping and my teeth are getting worse.
My dentist knows that I drink alkaline water 9.5 ph and he was like, “didn’t the thought occur to you that you’ve been drinking this beautiful alkaline water and then mixing it with lemons, which are 2 ph, (highly acidic like battery acid).” Basically, I’m counteracting all the goodness and benefits of the water.
I was like, “No, I never thought of that. I’ve been drinking my lemon water and apple cider vinegar every morning for many years out of habit, because there are many health benefits.” It’s just like when I used to practice a lot of hot yoga and drop into some really deep backbends because I thought it was good for me. One of my teachers said if I keep practicing my backbends like that without any core or strength to support them, my back would snap! Again, I thought I was doing the right thing and it was a habit and routine.
My trip to the dentist made me ponder about my habits and routines. Are they really serving me and beneficial physically, emotionally, energetically and mentally?
