My whole life I have been surrounded by an army of loyal, intelligent and strong supportive women from EVERY background. Without them I wouldn't be the person I am today, as open to new ideas, empathetic, and caring. Women have shaped me, nurtured me, soothed me, and shared their experiences and pains. Being from an eastern background believe me, I've seen and heard it all. The Burqa, Hijab, Niqab etc is not just an islamic form of wear, middle eastern culture and language have existed for centuries, predating the arrival of the abrahamic religions. The issue of the Burqa is very nuanced and frankly if you haven't been around these cultures to understand the cases where women are forced versus those who choose to wear what they want and every situation in between, then Boris Johnson - I'm going to need to ask you to have several seats sweetheart and stick to what you know. Freedom of choice is what we should be fighting for, not pointing at differences. Whenever you feel the need to chime in on an issue, just make sure you are fully informed and have educated yourself on the subject matter.
Freedom of choice for women, from their right to drive, equal pay, choice of partner, access to education, afforded the same opportunities in society as their male counterparts, right to vote, right to privacy, right to expression, choice of occupation or vocation in life, clothing, make up, cosmetic surgery and looks, and ownership of their womb. #womensrights
