⁣ 💪🏼 As the 53rd Anniversary of @goldsgym approaches, I feel this post is only fitting 💛⁣ ⁣ 💪🏼 I took a leap of faith in May and decided to switch to Gold’s Gym. At that point I had been on my fitness/weight loss journey for about 6 months and wanted to do more than just cardio. If you’re new to my journey, I also took a leap of faith and moved from MA to SC at the end of February this year. ⁣ ⁣ 💪🏼 I know at first I wanted to be able to incorporate more into my workouts and take some classes, but really what I found was an amazing community of people 🙌🏼😍💛 I am a Gold’s Studio member, which means I can participate in any of the coach-led boutique fitness classes (Gold’s Fit, Gold’s Burn, and Gold’s Cycle)⁣ ⁣ 💪🏼 The first photo is from my first @goldsstudio Fit class. I was SO nervous I felt as though I was going to be out of my element and hate it, but I didn’t at all. The group was so welcoming and made me feel so comfortable. At first I didn’t think I could do any of the movements 😆 but there are always modifications so that you’re able to still get a great workout 🙌🏼⁣ ⁣ 💪🏼 It was the best decision for me to join Gold’s. I find myself getting stronger, my stamina is so much better, there’s things I couldn’t do before that I’m plowing through. The biggest for me though is the community of people that I was able to meet and now call my friends. There are several ways to increase the difficulty of a workout, and it doesn't always have to be heavier weights or faster speed. ▪ Increasing the time that the muscle is under tension is a perfect example. ✌ways you can do this is incorporating pulse half reps and isometric holds as shown in the videos above. So if you want a different kind of hard for your workout, give this a whirl.🍦Trust me it is gonna burn. 🔥 Do each exercise for 60 seconds, doing a full rep followed by a half rep. Finish the exercise with a 15 second lateral hold if applicable.😵 Go slow with controlled and purposeful movement.🌟

Really? You STILL believe in magic?! THERE ISN’T ONE * I spend a lot of time talking to clients, prospective clients and in online fitness groups and I see this question a lot. * It’s a very sensible question – you guys are busy, you don’t have time to waste, you want to get the best results for the least amount of effort. * Maximise your returns. Understood. * Genuinely there isn’t one. Sure we have government guidelines and it’s great to move every day, but there’s a few issues with overdoing it. So here’s my take on it: * 1. If you kill yourself in the gym 4-5 times a week, your energy levels will suffer and you will stop moving so much outside the gym and stop burning as much energy. Net net, you’re worse off! (We call this NEAT… non exercise activity thermogenesis) * 2. You won’t enjoy it, if you don’t enjoy it, you won’t keep doing it. Waste of time. * 3. Make each session as long as YOU want it to be. * If you prefer 30 minute sessions, cool, if you do 45 minutes to an hour, awesome. Beyond this, there is really no need if you’re adhering to your calorie deficit and sticking to the plan. * With a little help and education, you can plan effective and efficient work outs that you enjoy. THAT is the key to success and happiness.

Wednesday’s are always my crazy day! the 5.30am hits and it’s time for a hard as hell workout, followed by “my real life job” and then I go to my side hustle gig in blacktoe running shop.✌️ . Ce matin j’ai dépoussiéré mes livres de nutrition acheté pour mon premier marathon 📚 et du coup à partir d’aujourd’hui ... reprise sérieuse de l’entraînement 🏊🏻‍♀️🚴🏻‍♀️🏃‍♀️ et de la nutrition 🥗🥒🥑🍆🍅 ... ☺️🙈 . . Bon ce matin c’était aussi dodo 💤 pendant que certains se sont levés aux aurores pour prendre le départ @embrunman 😱🙈 quel courage 😍❤️ bon courage à tout les #embrunman de cette année ☺️🙈 . . Je pense partir 🚴🏻‍♀️ ce soir 🙈 après avoir fait le ménage, ... les lessives, ... et fini de repeindre les menuiseries extérieurs de la maison 😂 c’est ça la vie seule à la maison 🏡
