Early this year (as with every one), I made a Pinterest vision board for the year. Everywhere in my imagination, in my Values exercises, was “get a dog.” (Fun that it was in THE .)
I knew, when I got honest, that I wanted a 10-15 lb, black 1 year old female poodle or havanese rescue. Not to be prejudiced, now. The image simply lived within me.
But within the first month of looking I gave up on everything but “hypoallergenic” on that list, because it was clear that this pup didn’t exist - IRL or on Pinterest. No. Black. Poodles. Anywhere.
Then one day I found this photo (1st pic) on Pinterest, and I said YES! That’s the one! But still, for months, (to be realistic) I kept my options open. And I’m glad I did. because that’s how I met Maya.
says “Ask for what you want and be prepared to get it.”
Then came my Maya (2nd pic, named after that astonishing poetess), a 1 year old female . Everything on my hearts “list.” (She doesn’t sit nicely in the car posing for Pinterest photos however, she plays with the seatbelt, which I think is better.) Bonus: my pup came with and .
It’s a little story for today’s reminder: sometimes we DO get what we desire. And sometimes the reality is much better. ✨
