The tangy smell of sulphur as I step into my skis.
The trail of coyote tracks, and scat.
The three bison peacefully grazing, where thermally heated water keeps grasses exposed year round.
The rhythmic swish of my skis as I climb, past volcanic basalt cliffs that harbor bighorn sheep and mountain lions, past waterfalls frozen in ice.
The wolf tracks padding alongside me on the downhill run. These are just some of the things that make me feel alive, that reset my priorities. This is the corner of the world that gives me peace. What is yours? Yellowstone is...well, Yellowstone. But there are other places just as magical, spiritual, adventurous. Many have forgotten that these lands are held in trust for all Americans, not just those that would make a buck. But I haven't. When I ski, far away from the depressing dopamine addiction that is Facebook news, I dare to hope that wisdom will prevail. When I'm out here, I believe. That's why we share what we do, so others will learn, know, remember, and protect. #ayellowstonelife #yellowstoneforever #yellowstonepledge #experienceyellowstone #yellowstonecountry #wolftracks #backcountryskiing #keepitwild #keepitpublic #yellowstone
