I spent a whole morning, happily sitting in the hot sun researching this loon family. Mystery on Pine Lake may be published and on book shelves, but I'm still fascinated by them, and love to bring their stories to classrooms. #loonfacts #cooperandpackrat #naturegeek #mainewildlife #wildlifephotography #loonfamily #loonchick

It's always a treat to watch loon adults feed their chicks. #loon #loonchick #naturegeek #naturephotography #wildlife #Mainewildlife #lakelife

I used a photographer pass at the Maine Wildlife Park to visit this adorable orphaned moose, Ashley. She's become a media sensation since being orphaned. Moose calves have fragile dietary needs, so the first summer is critical. And moose calves easily bond with humans who feed them, so if you find one alone, leave it be for a few days. Make sure it's really orphaned before you try to help it. #Moose #moosecalf #mainewildlifepark #photographerpass #naturegeek
