Barely a difference in scale weight between these two photos of me🤔But obviously a very significant difference in my BODY COMPOSITION💪🏼🔥. More muscle now & less fat. But still a similar scale weight⚖️. This is what I try to explain to clients! Don't be discouraged if the number on the scale doesn't say what you feel like it should- less weight is not necessarily better🤷🏼‍♀️your weight can go up, down, or stay the same but all of it can still mean you're making progress! Taking your measurements can be a huge help: because, for instance, perhaps your waist is getting smaller but your butt is getting more muscular🤷🏼‍♀️📈💪🏼 that may look the same on the scale but very different in real life. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ . ❗️2013: lost a bunch of weight and then gained it all back (+ some) because I didn't know BALANCE. I'd do tons of cardio when I went to the gym and barely lifted weights because I thought it would make me look "like a man"... . ❗️2017: I lift weights & track my macros👌🏼. I eat enough food every day of the week to keep me satisfied. No more binge eating & no more over restricting🙅🏼. I lift as much as I possibly can + do a little cardio to keep my body healthy😁! . I was feeling defeated, embarrassed, and tired or the whole "fitness" thing. 😞I needed to learn how to eat properly and weight train instead of looking for quick fixes☝🏼🙏🏼🔥 . 💭In 2014, I had begun to track my macros & practice flexible dieting🎉🎉🎉🎉. I found great success, lost the weight I had gained, and was feeling confident again(woo hoo...) but I didn't know how to eat at maintenance so I just kept losing weight (I thought you were either losing, or gaining.. no in between) on top of that I was MAJORLY stressed out, in my last year of college, and working 2 jobs😰😰I needed to chill out with the cardio, & eat even more food when I reached my goal weight instead of plummeting below that number. I was tired all the time, and no one liked me better bc I had a flatter tummy or skinnier legs☝🏼 . 💭Now (and for the past 3 years) I HAVE LEARNED 📖SO MUCH ABOUT WEIGHT TRAINING & PROPER NUTRITION. I am a healthy weight & Its easy for me to maintain. ☺️☺️☺️and I'm HAPPY! woo!! 🎉I found the perfect balance between working toward your goals, maintaining a healthy body and MIND, not missing out on my social life because of my "diet" or gym needs, and having FUN with my workouts! 💪🏼😁I eat foods I enjoy, I don't binge on junk food, but I also don't overly-restrict myself! 🥗🍪I workout 5-6x per week bc I LIKE IT, I have strong legs and a strong booty🍑!... . 🙏🏼My whole point in sharing these 3 stages of my journey side by side is so that you can realize that YOUR fitness journey probably won't be linear.. there might be ups and downs... If you were anything like me, you avoided pictures of you with food. You avoided being seen with food. My husband used to have to receive our food / takeaway deliveries because I always feared that they thought all the food was for me. I avoided wearing tshirts with any food slogans on it, even the "Cake is a Lie" slogan from Portal. If i had accidentally had ANY stain down the front of my tshirt that could be misconstrued as food, I'd be so anxious and upset. "The fat girl has food down her. How cliché" I don't worry about these things now, it requires a lot of stern talking to my shit brain, but I am now considered a normal size. I'm not seen as obese or fat. I am just a regular person on the street. I can hold ridiculously huge chocolate bunnies and people won't automatically think it is all for me. I love this journey. My started on 3/23/17 when I had bariatric surgery. In November, I hit 140 lbs on the scale or my goal weight. In December, I had plastic surgery to remove excess skin from my stomach. When I was done I walked past this mirror and remembered I had a progress photo of when I started seeing changes (more shape). I was starting to feel stronger, healthier and more confident in my looks. I figured I'd do a progress comparison. I think these are about 9 or 10 months apart and about 60-65 lbs difference.
