I was scrolling through my old photos to see if I had any VHS photos I hadn’t posted. I had a few but this one’s the best. Not sure why I took this picture on July 17th but I do know if these two were playing at a drive-in double feature you better believe I’m packing up the SUV and getting there just before sunset
When you find one movie worth buying but it’s Twins did you really only buy one movie? Never seen this... full comprehensive review coming
Did I make a colossal mistake NOT buying Woody Allen’s sealed brand new copy of Mighty Aphrodite with a 22 year expired coupon for FREE Duraflame Firelog!??
I was so back and forth on this buy because it looks like a kinda frisky film, I love Woody Allen & had no idea he directed this, and that Duraflame Firelog coupon is FIRE🔥 But then I remembered Woody Allen is kinda weird and I haven’t seen many of his movies... it’s Woody Harrelson that I love. So I went with a picture and a post but if I’ve made a huge mistake I’ll go back for that Duralog coup right now
Tuesday Trailer: Pokémon The Movie 2000. Back to save the world by popular demand
My brother texted me this picturing saying they found these at his work and the big bosses were potentially throwing them away... but he stepped in saved them from impending doom and gifted them to me! I’ve actually been looking for Dirty Work on account of I love that movie. And I’ve been collecting Gary Busey flicks and Man with a Gun looks like an amazing movie, but it plays a little scratchy. We have good reason to believe we actually saw Hollywood Homicide starring Harrison Ford in theatres... my brother remembers us seeing it but I have no memory of it, which isn’t a great look for the movie. Thanks @jon_gaudet for the movies!!
Tossed a couple sweet stickers onto my Ambico rewinder. Sometimes when I go thrifting I’m solely looking for the movie Brink! and a rewinder. I’ve gotten into the habit of rewinding all the movies I buy at the thrift before I organize/shelf them. When I pulled a movie out its slip last haul an orange “50 cents rewind charge” fell off of a tape so I super glued it on here and big thanks to @behindthecounterpodcast for the awesome VHS sticker. It’s found a great home!
When the thrift is slacking in VHS I tend to improvise my search and wonder where Stevie B’s been all my life
VHS super zoomed in looking like an 8 x 10 photo.... woah. Also, how do people like Mystery Alaska? I’m a person and I didn’t care for it a whole bunch #vhsstickers#drama
With the NHL well underway we’ve seen some outstanding plays on the offensive and defensive end as well as premier play from the top goaltenders around the world. Unfortunately this goalie stood no chance against our MVP (Most Valuable Primate) Jack as he completes a top play candidate of the year.
Here we see Jack bravely stepping into the arena by climbing over the boards and hopping in from the spectators area. His heads up play is timed perfectly to avoid a too-many-men on the ice penalty and immediately you can feel his confidence on the ice. Jack puts himself in great position for a breakout pass streaking up the ice on his off wing. He catches a perfect tape-to-tape pass from his defenseman and then he’s off to the races. As Jack knifes through the neutral zone he keeps control of the puck stickhanding in stride, sporadically looking down and back up to ensure he maintains his handle and momentum. With breakaway speed his opponent has no choice but to level Jack’s teammate hard into the boards drawing an interference call. Jack remains focused on the net and keeps his feet pumping up ice. When he gets to the bottom of the circle you can see him come to a full stop, wind up, and rip a clapbomb over the goalies shoulder glove side knotting it up at 3.
When you’re training, remember it’s OK to look down at the puck, all great MVPs do it. It’s about timing, preparation, and confidence to maintain your speed with control - oh yeah and it doesn’t hurt to take an absolute rocket from below the hashmarks 🤣💯 inspired by @heybarber
Someone leaving an empty cart next to all the VHS... a clear sign I must buy 30 more tapes that I definitely don’t need
Waited until Nov for that reduced pricing at $1.99 for Schwarzenegger’s The 6th Day. Imagine if I didn’t wait 17 and a half years and paid the full $14.99!! I sure can’t. I actually paid 53 cents for this today and in all my years I’ve never heard of the 6th Day but it’s Schwarzenegger so it’s an auto-buy for me
On the way to the tapes at Urban Renewals I always look in the ice skates/rollerblade bins. I’ve found some great skates and wheels in this bin. No joke, this non-Beatles-authorized tape was sitting inside with the blades n skates. Couldn’t believe it - was a calling to buy it, except it had mold so I left it there
