Day 24 of YogaFeels is lotus handstand ✨ Feeling 🤩 ✨ ✨ This is the pose that I saw probably a couple of years ago on IG that really awed me and hooked me. I don’t know if everyone has that one pose that really drew them in? I thought it was pure magic and that anyone who could do it was pure magic. I still think it’s magical. It’s still my favorite. At first I thought it would be impossible to get the lotus bind without using your hands but I actually discovered it’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Well if your hips are open. I know some people have a hard time with the hip flexibility here but that isn’t a struggle for me. I remember when I first got this pose I was gushing I was so happy. And it still just really makes me happy. I think it will always be my favorite and nothing will ever take it’s place. Hey have you checked out the harvest moon tonight? Also a blue moon. ✨ ✨ Feeling: 🤩Intensity rating: 🍰✨ With amazing host Carmen @cyogalife

Day 7 of GetYourArmBalanceOM🕉 is pincha . . It might look at first glance that I went very standard for today but then I went a little extra with today’s theme. So 2nd slide is flow from split press (we’ll more kick) to stag switches to straight up to lotus lower to baby lotus. 3rd is jump from dolphin to tuck, stag switches, back to tuck lower to baby crow. Then worked on a very stable bound arm pincha and a funky pincha lotus. Ok I’m done now. . . 🕉Awes-OM Beautiful Hosts: @zumbayogi @yogi.alinfini2.0 @yogafter40 @craze_k8 @shannonfofannon . 🕉Amazing Sponsors: @openheartscanunite @visakai @codefitmiami @root_yogawear @gocleveryoga @vayumudra @enjoyingthejourneywithoils @confusedgirlla . 🕉Pose Lineup: Crow/Side Crow 8 angle Grasshopper Flying Pigeon EPK Firefly Peacock Pincha Yogi's Choice

Day 18 of the LeagueOfExtraordinaryYogis LXYPlatinum challenge is tear♠️drop by the awesome @yogi_eric . I love a low boat variation although trying to find perfect symmetry is crazy making.

7

Day 265/365 ✨ResolutionHandstand2018 ✨ . . . My thumb is totally fine from yesterday so thought I’d try that lotus oah again but it rained making this walkway very slick. I decided to go for easy so I don’t kill myself. Also because I was out til 3 last night, so you know maybe not a lot of one arm balancing happening today but who are we kidding, definitely some.

Day 7 of GetYourArmBalanceOM🕉 is peacock . . . Fun fact about peacocks, only males are peacocks. Females are peahens. And babies are peachicks. The collective term is peafowl. This is my version of peacock but slide 2 for a real version. Another fun fact, we have a bevy of peacocks that live across the street from the gym I teach at so I see dozens of them every time I go. So you answer me, who did the pose best? 🤣🤣🤣 . 🕉Awes-OM Beautiful Hosts: @zumbayogi @yogi.alinfini2.0 @yogafter40 @craze_k8 @shannonfofannon . 🕉Amazing Sponsors: @openheartscanunite @visakai @codefitmiami @root_yogawear @gocleveryoga @vayumudra @enjoyingthejourneywithoils @confusedgirlla . 🕉Pose Lineup: Crow/Side Crow 8 angle Grasshopper Flying Pigeon EPK Firefly Peacock Pincha Yogi's Choice

Final Day of 🤸🏽‍♀️ HotFusionTT - . . I have to agree with Paige. Downdog is the absolute best. I used to think it was crazy it was called a resting pose but now I love hanging out in it for a breather. It’s also my favorite hamstring stretch for my perpetually tight hamstrings. I also love the versatility of the pose, taking a longer or shorter stance or taking a twist. Such a lovely end to such a wonderful challenge. So many thanks to some of my very favorite hosts and yoga teachers. Loved the explanations and movements you brought to the poses every day. It’s always so nice getting new insights to favorite poses. . . Day 23 of YogaFeels is dancer ✨ Feeling 🤩 ✨ ✨ I love heartopeners. This one is so challenging especially outside because I lose the grip of my foot almost every single time before I can take the pose as far as I’d like to go. I also tend to have to grip onto my wrist with my other hand again so my foot doesn’t slip from the other hand so easily. The balance is tricky too so I prefer to practice near a wall. I think I’ll always enjoy working on this pose. I love how many different ways there are to practice it although I often wonder if one way is more correct. I think this pose is a great choice for enjoying your practice. The day I got flipped grip which was just about a year ago was one of my happiest yoga breakthroughs. It still amazes me! ✨ ✨ Feeling: 🤩Intensity rating: 🌶 Dancer pose is a bit caliente ✨ With amazing host Carmen @cyogalife

Day 6 of 🤸🏽‍♀️ HotFusionTT - . . Such a beautiful explanation of the day’s pose updog by Rhyanna. I adore repeating the same movement over and over so did several of these. Updog is one of my favorite heartopeners. . Day 17 of the LeagueOfExtraordinaryYogis LXYPlatinum challenge is makeyourselfapuppet by the awesome @massomovement . This pose was so hard for someone who neither gets coordination nor deep twists. It took me awhile to figure out it was revolved. 🤣

Day 22 of YogaFeels is crane ✨ Feeling 🤩🤩🤩 ✨ ✨ I love that we’re exploring positivity in our practice because I’ve been feeling so positive. I think I may just turn into a sunbeam. I was looking back through this month’s posts and I’ve been so blissed out every day but 2. One day I was blissed but didn’t want to do a backbend (typical). One day I was just moody because of hormones and it was another backbend day where I really didn’t want to warm up my back. In general I’ve been feeling so positive this entire challenge both in general and about my practice. Poses that aren’t coming to me right now don’t bother me at all. They say or at least I’ve seen the quote that letting go is the hardest Asana but I love the feeling of letting go. I think the hardest part of letting go of the ego is just dealing with other people’s expectations. Other people find it extremely hard to relate to someone who they can’t immediately define, size up, rank. I also think a lot of people worry if they are totally content with what is they won’t take the steps to achieve more. I think if you’re totally content who needs more? But that’s just me. If my practice never got ‘better’ that would be fine. The first marathon I ran I thought constantly about the Tao Te Ching and trying to find the path of least resistance like water flowing down a hill. I think about that teaching all the time in my yoga practice now and life in general. I am always trying to find the correct balance between effort and ease. With crane pose, I can only hold a straight arm crane for a couple seconds usually. With just a micro bend I can hold it longer and bent arm I can hold forever. If anyone has any advice I’m all ears because I feel like the balance is hard and also my knees want to slide and maybe I find the core engagement hard? I’m not actually sure and trying to diagnose what I’m finding hard. ✨ ✨ Feeling: 🤩Intensity rating: 🍰 ✨ With amazing host Carmen @cyogalife

Day 264/ 365 ✨ResolutionHandstand2018 ✨ . . . Working on lotus and lotus tuck trying to lower to kukkutasana but bailing out at the end because I wasn’t on my mat. Then I tried doing lotus oah which is the hardest oah in my opinion and even worse in shoes (harder to unfold and bail) and managed to fall a little on my thumb which maybe I sprained because it’s swelling just a bit. Hey guys I never said try this at home. Although I did see a quote just today on insta that ‘adventure may hurt you but monotony may kill you’ so I totally do not see the need to stop trying different things.

Day 6 of GetYourArmBalanceOM🕉 is firefly . . . Lately I’ve been so happy I feel like if I could turn into a sunbeam I would. Been doing a lot of flying on my canes but also a lot of grounding stretching barefoot in the grass. And lots of uddiyanabandha pranayama . Day 263/ 365 ✨ResolutionHandstand2018 ✨ . . . Working on that pike. The holds are getting better. They feel like forever but are only about 6 seconds maybe not at my lowest. Getting to my lowest point starts to really challenge my flexibility. . .

Day 18 of YogaFeels is side roosterpose or parsvakukkutasana✨ Feeling 🤩 ✨ ✨ I’ve only done this once for a cyoga challenge a year ago. This time definitely went better. I’m at trivia night at the brewery and apparently it’s gonna get real because my phone has to go in cell phone jail. ✨ ✨ Feeling: 🤩Intensity rating: 🍰 ( but would have liked straighter arms)✨ With amazing host Carmen @cyogalife

And you may find yourself Living in a shotgun shack And you may find yourself In another part of the world And you may find yourself Behind the wheel of a large automobile And you may find yourself in a beautiful house With a beautiful wife And you may ask yourself, well How did I get here? . Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down Letting the days go by, water flowing underground Into the blue again after the money's gone Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground . Same as it ever was Same as it ever was Same as it ever was Same as it ever was. . - Talking Heads because I’m always listening to the Talking Heads and if anyone is reading this far, what do you listen to when you practice? I also listen to a lot of Lou Reed. Also how does one not get bored in handstand holds? I don’t work on them that much and part of me finds them intense but part of me gets bored like I want to put something down on my mat to stare at. . . . . Day 262/365 ✨ResolutionHandstand2018

Day 4 of 🤸🏽‍♀️ HotFusionTT - - Camel day. Posting 4 videos. First two are camel to wheel dropbacks. Second two are warming up my camel and walking hands down the wall to wheel. Full disclosure I’ve never done a camel to wheel dropbacks. It can use some work but it felt great. . .Videos go from most warmed up to just warming up. . . Day 15 of the LeagueOfExtraordinaryYogis LXYPlatinum challenge is infamouspeachwalks by the super awesome @mirajfindingbalance . I guess it’s time to answer the age old question, how many wiggles does it take to get to the end of your yoga mat. This was fun to try. My pup agreed and tried to join me. This is sped up. It’s a walk, not a sprint 🤣

8

Day 3 of GetYourArmBalanceOM🕉 is grasshopper . . . There are so many variations of grasshopper but I think this is my favorite. I basically decide whether I can do a pose or not by whether I can hold it with a smile. Day 14 of the LeagueOfExtraordinaryYogis LXYPlatinum challenge is spiderbishhandstand by the awesome @dreamsofmanta . I was for the asymmetrical part of this handstand, but you lost me with the side twist. I did a small side twist in the second slide but it’s hardly noticeable. Actually I do have to angle to the side or my feet hit the wall behind the stairwell that juts out. I kinda always wanted to handstand in these steps though so I guess that’s a win although they made for a pretty inconvenient prop the way they are walled in.

Day 17 of YogaFeels is king cobra ✨ Feeling 😫 ✨ ✨ Not feeling it today. Didn’t warm up my backbend so l’ll need to revisit this. I don’t practice it often and every time I do it’s pretty terrible. It’s slightly better warmed up. It’s definitely better with props. I can’t figure this pose out. This has got to be the worst backbend for me. Also having one of those days so really couldn’t muster the will to do it properly. ✨ ✨ Feeling: 😫Intensity rating: 🤷‍♀️ (I don’t know, I didn’t try very hard)✨ With amazing host Carmen @cyogalife

Day 3 of 🤸🏽‍♀️ HotFusionTT - - Plank day! Love it! So today we’re letting the core dip and lifting it back up. I love plank so much. I hope I’m doing this drill right. Also throwing in the side plank option. . Day 13 of the LeagueOfExtraordinaryYogis LXYPlatinum challenge is a hollowback pincha by the awesome @behrangyoga . I’m only posting several attempts because I’m not happy with any of them although 2nd one is probably best gaze shift which was really throwing me off but bad picture quality and lighting. Well all have bad lighting hence black and white. Ultimately my shoulder was like I’m good let’s quit now 🤣

9

. Day 261 /365 ✨ResolutionHandstand2018 ✨ . . . Hey, it’s tuckittuesday so working on tuck holds. Couple at about 40 and couple at about 30. Worked in some other stuff too but editing blah. These are way too boring to watch so you know don’t. Just trying to keep myself working on them.

8

Final Day of YogiKeepItReal is a challenging balance. . . . So many thanks to the lovely and amazing hosts for this awesome challenge. It’s was great to open up about poses we love but also those that really challenge us. I think no matter what happens in my practice there will always be poses that present a challenge. For balance, dancer was the hardest pose for me to get. I don’t work on my dancer very often because it is a challenging balance, backbend, shoulderopener and heartopener for me. I love how many things it works at once. I also love playing around with it. I’m not sure if there is one proper form for dancer? Some times I keep my face forward and sometimes I tilt it back to my foot. Sometimes I bring my foot over my head. Sometimes I really focus on opening up the chest as high as I can to the sky. Posting some different variations I’m playing with. Right now I think my favorite is trying to lift my chest higher. I’ve heard some people describe backbends really as front body openers and I like to think of them that way. The balance here is really tricky especially when I start to bring my head back and my gaze shifts. Also because it’s very hot and humid, my foot is really hard to keep gripped. But I would like to keep working on going deeper with my dancer pose and also to be able to get both my hands to my foot on my other side. . . . Day 16 of YogaFeels is frogpose ✨ Feeling 🤩 ✨ Still have some progress to make in this pose but I find it comfortable and relaxing. This is definitely one I can settle into for a few minutes. Day 12 of the LeagueOfExtraordinaryYogis LXYPlatinum challenge is baddhafloatasana by the awesome @nick_vishanka . Cool pose name. But if you tell me it’s floating, I’m gonna have to float it. Theme the rules. So I guess this pose officially shows you where you are on the IG OCD spectrum. I am clearly not very I’ve but my second shot by some miracle came out pretty symmetrical so that was cool.

Day 15 of YogaFeels is cowfacepose ✨ Feeling 🤩 ✨ We’re worked my on feeling positive toward our practice. I usually feel positive toward my practice. This pose has never been challenging for me. I suppose one can always go deeper in their grip but I generally just make both my hands into hooks and then hook them together. I think the main reason this one comes easily is because I have long arms. I also have always had pretty open hips so no problem there either. So all positive here. I will say though in general being very tall and having really long limbs, especially really, really long legs makes a lot of poses and presses way more challenging. So it’s nice when it actually makes life easier. Posting several pics to show different sides and angles because I think this pose is hard to photograph and also posting the fold in it. ✨ Feeling: 🤩Intensity rating: 🍰✨ With amazing host Carmen @cyogalife
