#5 Bell Hagg
3.6km there and back / stoney bridleway / gradually descent/ascent / pram all the way down, sling a little of the way back up / park on road / no cafes or pubs this time #packasnack
One of my favourite mini rambles in Sheffield, the view out onto the peaks opens up as soon as you step onto the path at the Bell Hagg. At the fork I’d usually take the higher route but I’ll have to leave that for now as it’d definitely be a sling only day.
We passed ponies, blackberries ripe for the pickin’, dry stone walls and gnarly trees straight from middle earth growing out of the hillside to name but a few natural features in this lovely little pootle. Easy to push the pram down hill if you have a sturdy one, I flipped the handle to ensure no one was upside down... We turned around just before reaching the road and returned back the way we came, the stones were more of an issue on the ascent and luckily granny was on hand to drag the pram whilst I carried the baby, stopping to feed and take in the sights and sounds on a flat stone which was just the right height to perch on for a rest under the shade of a tree looking back into the city.
