Série outils d'entraînement partie 4: [Les Haltères]⠀⠀ Les haltères sont sans doute l'outil d'entraînement le plus connu. Je les utilise deux plusieurs manières différentes: pour effectuer certaines exercices de renforcement spécifique (muscles de la coiffe des rotateurs de l'épaule par exemple) mais aussi de manière balistique comme les kettlebells. So that’s Week 1 Workout 1 Of #roadtokona2020 done and it was challenging. The water was very choppy and had to swim strong to move through the waves. Also at about 250m my goggles started leaving water in and I put up with it for a while until my eye was burning too much so goggles went on head, after temporary stop, and I continued with head above water swimming. Was frustrating but who knows what race day will be like so such training sessions very useful. My overall average was very slow but was 2.25/100m before goggles left in water so happy with that. That’s the first of 10 training sessions this week. Weight training later

Congrats  to the 8 Kids Of The Kids Kenpo Karate Group who took their grading exam this evening at @dsgymplayablanca to graduate to yellow belt and THEY ALL PASSED🙌🙌. They were all fantastic and work so hard every week. I want to give a special thank you to Wellington ( @kenpolanzarote )- our Kenpo master and also World Kenpo Champion - for all the work he puts in with the kids. They are so lucky to have a World Champion as their teacher. Also a big thank you to Wellington’s wonderful wife and 2 daughters who also work so hard to assist teaching the kids and to ensure it is always fun while progressive.

This morning was all over the shop and best laid plans were destroyed so had to go Plan B with training. So I managed to squeeze in a nice run (2nd of Wk) before my 12pm MSS class. I ran by the ocean which I love and great getting the negative ions too. The run felt comfortable and went at a reasonable pace. Lower back and right hip were a little niggly but nothing some stretching won’t fix. So that’s another session done this week. 6 down 4 to go. Série outils d'entraînement partie 3: [La corde à sauter]⠀ .⠀ J'adore la corde à sauter. Elle permet de travailler la coordination, le rythme, le cardio et la détente (capacité directement transferrable dans les techniques de saut). Les mouvements sont fun à apprendre et peuvent se combiner pour augmenter à la fois l'intensité et la complexité. En plus elle peut s'emporter absolument partout!⠀ Beaucoup de gens n'aime pas cet outil parce qu'ils sont frustrés de ne pas arriver à le maîtriser. The plan today was a 550m swim and a run sprint session. However plan B was required as just before i was due to go swimming it rained heavily and continued so I made a swift decision to move Friday’s Weights Session To today and do today’s 2 workouts tomorrow. Never make excuses - be resourceful and solution orientated. I had a great Weights Session and again was able to up all my weights. Really happy with my progress with the Weights and the desired strength, leaness and muscle gain is happening. If weather improves I may do one of my 2 remaining running sessions later. Otherwise It’s likely I’ll be doing 3 workouts tomorrow. Morning Motivation : Don’t Just Talk About It. Bloody Do it!! Talk Is Cheap. Talking And Sitting On Your Ass Changes Nothing. What is your ultimate vision in life? What type lifestyle? Where do you want to live? What do you want to experience? What type relationship? What goals do you want to achieve? When you have this vision the next step is action on a plan. Too many want everything but spend their life talking about it. I regularly get messages about how “lucky” I am to live where I do BUT all I did was decide and take action. You can do this too. It’s far to common that people talk about what they want but just sit on their ass and do nothing to make it reality. It’s like they think it will magically happen without effort. You e got to go out there and make it happen. I’m always stressing that the only fear you should have in life is regret so live with this in mind every single day. Today’s training session ended up being at 7.15pm and I hate training in the evening or even late afternoon BUT #noexcuses and it’s got to be done. So today was a 45 minute spinbike session where for the first 25 minutes I increased resistance while keeping a good speed. Then for the last 20 minutes the resistance was high and I was in climbing position and each 10 minutes resistance was increased. Was glad when was over. 4 workouts down 6 to go!

I have to be honest I have not been able to join the 5am club this week at all lol 🙈😬 ... every morning I sleep past my 5am alarm cause I'm so tired (...think my body may be telling me something perhaps lol 😂🤔) . So Sunday I just did a home workout and Monday and yesterday I was at the gym at 9pm 😳. Not my ideal time to workout for sure... Nor is 5 or 6am lol... But one thing I will say... despite feeling tired, having a headache and a swollen/bruised ankle that I've had to adapt my exercises to... I was so damn proud of myself for not letting myself get lazy... and taking the "easy path".. silently telling myself it's ok to give up. Cause I believe that every little accomplishment you achieve.. especially after those long hard days... not only build your spirit and belief in yourself, but they build your character. I believe the hardest roads we travel ...have the greatest rewards. ..and the easiest paths we take.... have even bigger regrets. I have had a few people recently who've actually commented on how hard they see me workout... as well as how focused I appear... and I never say this to them in the moment, but I always think it in my mind.. and that is that the time and space I create to work on myself physically is often the most peaceful part of my day. It is a time for me to release pent up emotions... Release stress and the weight of the world... And to be fully present and let the world dissappear. Sweat is also very cleansing to me. As if it were cleansing out all the negativity from the day.. or week. And after walking out of a good workout... Whether it be an intense run, weight lifting or rock climbing... I always feel invigorated and a sweet satisfaction and happiness come over me.. no matter how may day was leading up to it. :) I also found a small white feather walking out of the gym last night and it made me smile.. actually picked it up and took it with me. Seems insignificant to most, but I have found many feathers along my path and they are always gentle reminders to me whenever I am feeling lost or distant towards my goals and dreams that I am indeed on the right path.

Morning Motivation : Life Begins At The End Of Your Comfort Zone. Be Regularly Uncomfortable. Push Your Limits. None of us likes to feel uncomfortable in terms of wanting to give up during a workout or not making an important phone call or how you feel before an interview or audition. We hate discomfort BUT it’s necessary if you want to create the life you want. So many give up just before Success was about to become reality. You must be prepared to meet all challenges and dig deep when required. When you overcome uncomfortable moments or experiences you are immediately empowered and grow as a person which allows you to move on even better armoured for future success. Think about times you dug deep at times of challenge - how did you feel afterwards? Great right? And you moved onto the next step. Regularly feel uncomfortable. Le med-ball est vraiment cool pour la variété de mouvements qu'il permet, et le peut de risque qu'on prend à l'utiliser. Ici je ne présente pas d'exercice de lancer à proprement parler (je le ferai dans une prochaine vidéo), mais c'est l'un des meilleurs outils pour travailler cette technique ainsi que l'explosivité.⠀ Les exercices:⠀ 1. Today’s 2nd Training Session was a 4.7km Run with @dsgymplayablanca Running Club. The first half I ran with various individuals to make sure they were ok and then for last 2km took off at good pace to push myself and see how body reacted and see how felt and what speed could do. Happy with result. 2 good sessions done today - that’s 3 for the week. Running in this beautiful location is always helped by the beautiful surroundings. Roll on day 3 Of The Week tomorrow

After a great first weeks training on #roadtokona2020 it was important to get week 2 off to a positive start. It’s been a hectic day, as most are, but I just about squeezed my 40 minute spinbike session in between MSS classes. It was to be 45 minutes but had to do 40 mins so I made sure to put even more into it. I did the first 20 minutes gradually increasing resistance while keeping a good speed. Then for the final 20 minutes I had high resistance and in climbing position and increased after 10 mins and for last 5 minutes it was very slow movement really grinding with the high resistance. I felt great after while thighs burning but that’s workout 1 Of 10 Done. Roll on tomorrow

Mi opción fácil y cómoda sería que coma en el colegio, pero lo que caracteriza a las cantinas de los colegios son sus productos lleno de azúcar y fritanga así que jamás me iría por esa opción, mi deber y mi meta es q coma como yo o mejor 💚; sólo los viernes le doy permiso de comerse lo que más le guste de la cantina para así tener un equilibrio. . . Lo mejor es que el mayor lo hizo por elección propia pues siempre peleaba para que las comiera, es amante de los granos y me esfuerzo para que le guste los vegetales tanto como a mi, hasta ahora vamos muy bien y lo mejor es que me ha aumentado de peso y de tamaño ✔️y va por su colegio diciendo orgullosamente que el es #plantbased como su mami jajaja😍, en cuanto al más pequeño ese ni se entera pq come lo que le pongan. . . No se escandalicen porque realmente las carnes las consumimos por simple COSTUMBRE la verdad es que NO las necesitamos para estar saludables; si desde pequeños no las ven en el plato ni caso les harán y aún así crecerán igual o mejor de salud. Así que para los que me pregunten que son mis hijos pues de momento: vegetarianos flexibles; Digo flexibles para llevar la cosas en armonía porque aun en la familia ( abuelos entre otros) son obtusos para entenderlo, pero los comprendo todo eso es debido a la falta de información y de estudio sobre el tema y por supuesto miedo a lo desconocido. Así que cómo son sólo míos pues comen lo que mami diga, al menos cuando están conmigo ja! 🤪🤭🤓. . . Este post se los hice especialmente para aquellas que me han comentado que por alguna razón se les dificultad cambiarse a plant based por diferentes razones : por amigos , familia, pareja y sociedad en general, siempre les digo que : “no olviden que Los diferentes somos nosotros y nuestro deber es invitarlos y enseñarlos a disfrutar este estilo de vida verde “💚. . . ¿Preguntas? ⤵️ . #goveggie🌱

Today we had our 4th @dsgymplayablanca BBE (Beach Bootcamp Experience) At Famara and what a wonderful day it was. I’m so thankful and grateful to everyone who has invested in me and this new project in signing up and the positive feedback each time makes me so happy. My intention each morning I wake is to make a positive impact on just 1 person and when I get positive feedback it makes me feel great. If you haven’t yet experienced BBE you need to. It’s a wonderful experience in such a beautiful location. I will be deciding the final dates for remainder of 2018 in the coming days and limited places so get in touch if you want to book in for one. Today I completed workout 7 and 8 of this weeks 10 workout plan in the first week of getting back into serious training in my goal to achieve 2 hr 10 min finish Olympic Distance in 2019 and to do sub 10 Hour Ironman in Kona in 2020. Both workouts were the last thing I felt like doing and I had to dig really deep today. It’s been a very challenging 20 months both personally and professionally and I’m mentally drained and in need of a holiday which will happen when the times right. This week I’ve learned how much we think we’re physically tired when it’s actually all in the head and it’s mentally tired you are. At such times when the mental demons are winning you must remind yourself of your why as well as thinking of those who inspire you. For me that’s @oakes.fiona @richroll @tri_thedon and @johnjosephcromag They inspire me by what they do and have done and the incredible obstacles and challenges they’ve smashed. Today I had a power weights session and a run. 2 workouts left tomorrow and a rest day Sunday and that will be one hell of a satisfying first week back on #roadtokona as a #vegantriathlete

Je préfère utiliser les kettlebells à une seule main dans la plupart des cas car cela permet d'utiliser le plan transverse et de travailler la rotation thoracique, ainsi que la réciprocité contra-latérale.⠀ Tu peux voir dans cette vidéo:⠀ 1. swing avec posture bilatérale⠀ 2. step swing⠀ 3. step swing & tirage en posture unilatéral⠀ 4. lunge thruster⠀ 5. snatch en posture bilatérale⠀ 6. speed skater avec swing côté extérieur⠀ 7. combo step swing/snatch⠀ Certains de ces mouvement nécessitent de la coordination, mais en y allant progressivement tout deviendra naturel. Morning Motivation : Don’t Let This Weekend Be A Weak-End!! Finish Strong! Yay it’s Friday. Yay it’s the weekend BUT do you spend your week looking for the weekend? Do you tend to switch off once Friday starts and switch on again Monday? Or try to at least as can be difficult depending on what happens during the weekend. For most the weekend is switch off time and nearly a sigh of relief. However this mostly happens because most hate work or various aspects of their life and the weekend is a reprieve from it. This is not how to live and the weekend should instead be where you take action to improve your life and circumstances - as every day should. Keep the momentum going. Keep making positive changes and taking progressive steps towards life you want. It’s the same with exercise and nutrition - keep things going especially if the week hasn’t been to Plan. Don’t limp to the finish of the week. Every day is an opportunity to enrich and improve your life. Now if you are consciously (the important word) deciding to switch off that is different and is a decision and if earned during the week then 100% with you. But make sure you’ve earned it. Don’t let this weekend be a WEAK-END - finish strong. I hope this has been helpful. Leave a comment below and let me know.
