“Opioid in the Delta”
Data shows that rural states suffer from the most opioid abuse in the nation. Most small towns don’t have hospitals or treatment centers to help those in need. Even if you had the help close by, the stigma of getting treatment is overwhelming and that crippling fear is multiplied in a small town. Everyone knows your business and will notice if you’re at a treatment center.
This was the challenge the Arkansas Delta Rural Health Partnership presented us earlier this year. We came together and produced a documentary full of real stories, hoping to encourage support around the state. I’m really proud of the work we put into this project.
Thank you to all of the people involved in this film. Being vulnerable on camera to help others is daring and noble.
You can watch their stories on my site. Link in bio.
